When i was looking for some sports car like mustang, camaro etc in Seattle, Fox was the only one who offered this kind of car. Well, i read a lot of reviews, many of them was not very positive and I already have bad experience with car rental from Italy, where a car rental company Locauto charged us for imaginary damage, but its offtopic now. With some worries i booked a Mustang at Fox Seattle Tacoma airport. After landing in Seattle, shuttle bus took us to the new building full of rental car companies, where is also Fox located. The price was quite higher, because of insurance and young driver fee, but nothing special. We also rented GPS, to travel to Canada. but they hadnt Canadian maps, so we gave it back. The Fox guy told us to go downstairs and choose one of the cars in sector Z, which was full of Mustangs, Challengers, some more powerful Toyotas etc, no Camaro but it was ok. After looking on all that nice cars Ive never seen before togehter (Im from Slovakia, Europe) i decided to choose Black Mustang Convertible 2011, 3,7 litre V6. It was very clean, engine started with great sound, everything was fine. There was some little damage on the bumpers, that was not written in car documentation, so according to my previous experience with other car rentals, i took some photos and told it to Fox officer, that there is some damage, but he told that its ok. Everything went great, we also tried ride with roof down and enjoyed the car for three days. I returned the car on time, Fox officer checked gas, he didnt specially check the car, I gave him keys, wrote down some papers and thanked for a good service. So do not hesitate to rent a car from Fox cars, theyre good ūüôā

FIRST AND LAST TIME I RENT FROM FOX RENTAL CAR. I think I had the worst rental car experience that I’ve ever had and I rent cars often. Rented at SFO Airport. Took over an hour for them to find me a car in the Standard class. That’s time at the counter while they were making phone calls trying to find a standard car. When they got a car, it was a Chrysler 200, NOT a Standard size car, more like an Intermediate or Economy. Car had a Check Oil light all the time, tires were out of balance (didn’t find out until we were on the highway), lots of scratches and broken parts on the vehicle. On top of that it had so little headroom in the car that I hit my head getting into it and I’m 5’2″ tall! That’s why I rented a standard, I like a roomier car that I don’t have to awkwardly crunch my body to get into. While I was waiting at the counter, they kept trying to up-sell me to a higher costing car. Other companies will give a higher car if they don’t have your size. I mentioned that I wasn’t having a very good experience with FOX and that it was my first time to try them. I told them that I was renting a car for a whole month in the Spring and this was their chance to impress me. They didn’t and I cancelled that reservation. I will never use FOX again.

Positive review. Like BGJimC (Jun 2014), I too was very skeptical; there’s a lot of negative on this thread. And I don’t doubt the veracity of the negative reviews – the venom seems authentic. But my experience with Fox was excellent. I had seen the negative reviews, but Fox’s rates were less than half of the typically brutal Denver airport pricing, so I took a shot. Could not have worked out better: a nearly new car, full tank of gas, a modest wait at the rental counter, a cordial and not overly-pushy rental agent, and very speedy return process. Don’t know whether Fox is getting their act together or whether it’s just the Denver location, but they’ve got my business in the western USA, at least until they mess up.

WARNING!!!!! THIS IS THE WORST RENTAL CAR COMPANY!! a friend and i rented from their Phoenix office. their initial approach to customer service should have been enough to turn us away but we thought it was simply this one guy with a bad attitude. wrong. our next step was to go downstairs to their check-out counter to complete the transaction. this guy didn’t have any social skills and barely grunted to tell us which row our car was in. he didn’t direct us to take a walk around the vehicle to check for dents, etc. but we took the initiative and he was greatly bothered that we had to take him away from his duty post to show him the dents on the passenger door. very rude to my friend throughout the entire transaction. we rented the car for a long weekend. while in las vegas i got sick and we had to return a day early. being a bit leary about them, we called Fox asking if there would be any fees and/or penalties for returning the car one day early. we were told we would be charged $10.00 for each day used! we called twice to confirm this. their company does not credit your account for one day, it charges you a penalty for each day their vehicle is USED! we kept the car for another day. upon returning it, the two women closing out the rental told us we would have been credited for the early return, the phone number we called tells all customers the wrong procedure and we should have called their local number, which they never answer — she said this. what??? we will never use Fox car rental again. ever.

I have used them also in Orange County. I go there to visit my elderly mother, so I have plenty of stress. Once, on the shuttle from Fox to the airport, the traffic made the trip close to 40 minutes, and I vowed, never again. Then, the price for a 4 day weekend was a quarter the price of on-site agencies, so I decided to go with Fox again. No traffic delay. By the way, I locked my keys in the car at a gas station next door, and called Fox with my cell phone to see if they had extra keys. Shockingly, they said they had no extra keys. I can hardly believe that’s the case. Luckily, there were two guys almost sleeping in a plumbing truck, and I asked them if they could open the car, which they could. Yeah! I gave them $20, and made my plane. Whew! In general, like non-stop flights, I prefer on-site rental agencies, but, given substantial savings, I’ll go with Fox.

I wanted to report back that the rental we had with Fox at the Oakland airport was problem and stress free. We didn’t pick up our car until 11 pm and still had the choice of several vehicles–we chose a Honda civic. It did have 50,000 miles on it and a few dings but we made sure they were noted on the rental form. We returned the car three hours earlier than we planned without any additional charges. They did put a $100 deposit on our credit card but that was taken off the cc by the next business day. We have now used Fox rental in Phoenix and in Oakland, I wouldn’t hesitate using them again. We rent compact cars, without additional insurance coverage so might be easier to accommodate than someone needing a larger vehicle Deborah

I rented an economy car from Fox Rent a Car at Phoenix Sky Harbor. In general, I had read bad reviews about Fox but Phoenix received good reviews. Their price was best, but the final cost was not. I rented an economy car Aveo Chevy or similar. The webpage ad showed a 4 door car, room for 4 passengers and 4 suitcases. When I checked in they gave me a Fiat 500. They said that was their version of a “similar” economy car. It could not hold 4 passengers or 4 suitcases. I agree that a Fiat 500 is “economy”, but it is not “similar” to what I had agreed to rent. I was forced to upgrade at a cost that boosted both my main rental amount and all the hidden taxes associated with the Phoenix airport. Needless to say, I was not pleased. In retrospect I should have been more forceful by insisting that the Fiat 500 was not similar to what I had rented. On the other hand, I should have been given a car that was actually “similar”.
